I’m Mike, a senior product designer who has spent over a decade creating engaging experiences for some of the world's most popular platforms.

Senior Product Designer

I established the Oculus Accessibility team and shipped industry-first features.

Senior Product Designer

I established the Oculus Design Systems team, resources, and more for VR’s biggest platform.

Senior Product Designer

I launched Rift S, the successor to Oculus’s flagship product.

Product Designer

I brought craft to components and icons still in use today by the Instagram Design System.

Multidisciplinary at heart, I bring together various types of design.

01

Design systems

A design system not only ensures that a product is cohesive but also helps teams avoid the inefficiencies that come with ad-hoc design decisions.

02

Pathfinding

Pathfinding means moving quickly to explore a problem space, identify new product opportunities, and arrive at a clear vision.

03

Product strategy

A great product strategy puts design at the center in order to solve user problems and meet business goals.

04

Thinking outside the box

Great design doesn’t end at the mock and should extend into visual design, web, type, prototyping, 3D, AR/VR, and more.

I'm driven by the pursuit of craft, systems thinking, and navigating ambiguity.

With every project I tackle, I bring deep curiosity and a love of learning to make the work better. I thrive when building zero-to-one products that address big problems with lean teams. When I'm not designing, you can usually find me sewing (real and virtual), skateboarding, and spending time with my family.
